Deep Creek Lake

Last weekend was a great time at Winterfest in Deep creek. I am always presently surprised at the number of people that turn up and the amount of raw talent.

We arrived early and stayed at a wonderful Deep Creek hotel, lake front. On the first night we ate out rather than eating in the hotel.  I love hotel dining, but Deep Creek has some really nice restaurants.  My favorite is DC Steakhouse, at the Ski Wisp.  They have Dogfish Alehouse on tap.  If you’ve never had Dogfish 60 Minute Pale Ale, you’re missing out!  After dinner we went back to our nice little Deep Creek hotel and sat by the fire for a little while before calling it a night.

The next day we went to the Winterfest and what a great time it was.  Is was only a short distance from our Deep Creek hotel and was easy to get to. Everything at Deep Creek is easy to get to!  The ice carvings were great.  the Lowes in Oakland had a ice castle with a slide for the kids, what a nice time.

After a long day out and about, we headed back to the hotel to restup before taking the trip back home.  All-in-all it was a great weekend at Deep Creek lake, as it always is!
